In this session, taped at the Bogleheads conference in Oct. 2022, he tackles when to file for Social Security, how to know whether to convert traditional IRA balances to Roth, and how to sequence withdrawals across multiple account types (traditional tax-deferred, Roth, and taxable) in an effort to reduce the drag of taxes in retirement.

Breakout Session - Accumulators (Karen Damato)

What should people in their 20s through 50s know about saving for retirement, multitasking with college and retirement savings, and the role of emergency funds and insurance products? Panelists including hourly financial planner Randy Bruns of Model Wealth; Nick Maggiulli, author of the book Just Keep Buying and chief operating officer at Ritholtz Wealth Management; and Dan Egan, director of behavioral finance and investing at Betterment tackled those questions and more at a special session for "accumulators" at the Bogleheads conference in Oct. 22. Burton Malkiel in Conversation with Rick Ferri

Dr. Burton Malkiel authored one of the classic investing books, A Random Walk Down Wall Street (now in its 12th edition) and was one of the thought leaders who contributed to the development of index funds. He also weighs in on the role of international equities, real estate, and Treasury Inflation-Protected Securities in investors' portfolios.
